In 1999 we reached our low watermark as a Church when only around 35% of the UK population attended Church over the Christmas period. Since then the numbers have been steadily increasing, particularly in the last couple of years. The Daily Mail reported that Christmas 2006 had seen a huge increase with over 45% of the UK attending Church. This means that around 27 million people came through the doors of our Churches that Christmas; a huge opportunity to relevantly share the good news of a God who was so desperate to bring us hope that He left Heaven and came to Earth.

Through the Gift of Hope we want to encourage and resource local Churches to do what they do best even better, but also desire that these Churches will look beyond their services and plan to reach out in word and deed over the festive period in numerous creative ways; through community action, local radio, care for those living in poverty and much, much more.
